As 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the devastation it imposed on the Gulf South, the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program is honored to be commemorating this anniversary by having participated in a 10-day, 10-home Build-A-Thon on America Street in New Orleans East from May 20 – May 30. Each home received insulation from the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program.
In support of the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program, the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore is collecting denim for recycling. Click here for the address to drop off your denim at the ReStore.
Recycling denim into insulation can keep someone warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. One way to contribute is to mail in your used denim to the program directly. Click Here to learn about mailing your denim.
