RECYCLE YOUR DENIM AT THE NEW ORLEANS AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RESTORE

New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity

As 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the devastation it imposed on the Gulf South, the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program is honored to be commemorating this anniversary by having participated in a 10-day, 10-home Build-A-Thon on America Street in New Orleans East from May 20 – May 30. Each home received insulation from the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program.

In support of the  Blue Jeans Go Green™ program, the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore is collecting denim for recycling.  Click here for the address to drop off your denim at the ReStore.

Mail in Your Denim

Recycling denim into insulation can keep someone warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. One way to contribute is to mail in your used denim to the program directly. Here's how:

  • Please limit your package(s) to a MAXIMUM of 100 pieces of denim per parcel. If you have more than 100 pieces of denim, please contact us.
  • You are responsible for the cost of mailing your denim. You may select your carrier (for example the USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Make sure your mailing package is strong enough to support the amount of denim you're putting in it.
  • Only denim items can be sent; however, any type of denim apparel (not just jeans) is accepted.
  • Colored denim is accepted. Organic denim is accepted.
  • Denim does not have to be 100% cotton - it may contain a percentage of other fibers.
  • Your denim may be mailed in any type of condition - it can contain rips, holes, etc.
  • You do not need to remove anything from your denim. All decorations including buttons, grommets, snaps, zippers, etc. are removed during the recycling process.
  • Make sure to label your package correctly or download a mailing label below.
  • Please contact us with any additional questions.

*Offer valid on purchases made in Madewell stores through December 31, 2015, when you contribute one pair of jeans to the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program and purchase at least one new pair of full-price jeans. Offer not valid at madewell.com or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. Offer not valid on third-party branded items.
